About Our School

  • The school has an excellent range of audio - visual equipment, which includes interactive whiteboards in all classrooms, digital cameras, visualisers, CD players, DVD players, data projectors, overhead projectors, computers, keyboards, and science equipment. 
  • All classes have a spacious play area. We have 2 basketball/tennis courts, a grass area and access to the full sized pitch in the village. We are fortunate to have a sizeable school hall and a good range of sports equipment to enable us to provide experience of a wide variety of games, including hurling, football, soccer, basketball, uni-hoc, tag-rugby etc. 
  • We also have access to the local community hall.
  • On the school grounds or adjacent to it, pupils may experience the delights of the millennium wood, the butterfly patch, the stream, habitat and wildlife.  
  • Pupils are brought on regular field trips to provide ‘hands on' learning experiences.
  • Two Autism Classes are attached to the school catering for 12 children.
  • All children have access to the school's Sensory Garden.
  • The school has a Sensory Integration room and Snoozelan.
  • Pupils are involved in table quizzes.
  • 1st to 6th class attend swimming lessons.
  • Tin whistle is taught from 3rd- 6th classes. A number of children have the opportunity to avail of music lessons in violin/recorder/cello: instruments are supplied by the school.  We also have a school orchestra. 
  • 2nd class take part weekly in the ‘Let's Make Music' project learning to play the violin. 
  • Classes participate in Literacy Lift Off. We also avail of the mobile library.
