Green Schools
The committee members have been working happily on the ‘Biodiversity’ theme since September. They have become much more familiar with the plants, trees, insects and overall environment around the school. Our surroundings are really amazing and we look forward to learning more and teaching everyone all about it.Special magnifiers were bought using money from can recycling and these are super for looking at things really close up! The school garden was a success again… with onions, beans, peas and blue potatoes being grown! Mr O S. said they tasted lovely….but ate too many so ended up ‘blue in the face’!
The other flag themes … ‘Litter and Waste’, ‘Energy’ and‘Water’ …are being maintained all the time. We are going to take part in the Knockmealdown Active Competition in January, which focuses on illegal dumping. We will make a video and write an exciting script! In the Winter we don’t display our flags as they would get damaged. Come Spring they will fly proudly!
Keep up to date with our on going work towards achieving the flag in our 'Latest News' section!
