Fourth Class had a wonderful opportunity this week when Dr Daniel Falk, a palaeontologist from University College Cork, visited our classroom on Wednesday and Thursday to deliver a fascinating workshop all about fossils. We learned about how fossils are formed, the different types of fossils that exist and what fossils can tell us about life on Earth millions of years ago.
Dr Falk shared many interesting facts and examples from his work. We had a chance to examine fossils up close and think like real scientists. We thoroughly enjoyed asking questions and discovering more about dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures and ancient environments.
